FLORIDA

The study tour for the security courses goes to Florida in the USA. Here you will have a close encounter with various emergency responders through visits to prisons, police and fire stations. They show us how they work and what equipment they have. There will be opportunities for those who want to join an alligator safari, basketball game, flea market, Universal Studios amusement park, or skydiving. We live right on the beach, so the days provide opportunities for swimming, beach volleyball, sunbathing and relaxation. On this trip you will have a completely unique opportunity to see and experience the USA, also from the inside.

At Trondheimsfjord Folk High School you can choose which study trip you want to go on, or whether you want to stay at the school for a more affordable and sustainable year. You make the choice a little after school starts.

NB! The study trip to Florida can only be chosen by those who are studying Police, Fire and Prison, Criminology - Punishment and Freedom, Paramedic - Safety and Response or Hardhaus.

Lanzarote

On this trip we stay at Club La Santa – a fitness paradise full of possibilities! Every day you choose at least two activities you want to participate in, such as padel, crossfit, SUP, running, swimming, yoga, boxing, squash or a group class. In addition, we arrange excursions – including to a volcanic crater, a local village with a Sunday market and a large shopping mall.

Club La Santa gives you the opportunity to try out many different forms of training either on your own or with professional instructors, while enjoying the sun and warmth in beautiful surroundings. It is possible to train at the world's first outdoor hyrox center or train on the trails of the Lanzarote International Running Challenge. This is a trip for those who love varied activities in community, and new experiences.

Greece

The Tolon trip – a perfect end to the school year!

Every May, the entire Trondheimsfjord Folk High School travels to Tolon in Greece, a trip that puts an unforgettable end to the school year! The school has been traveling here for over 20 years and has equipment available for you for various activities.

This is what you can experience on the trip:

Visit to Athens – Acropolis, Old Town and Corinth Canal
Activity days – Choose from hiking, cycling, fishing, diving, water sports, plogging and beach activities
Culture and history – Excursions to Epidavros, Mycenae and King Agamemnon's tomb
Boat trips – Explore the islands of Hydra, Spetses and Dascalio with swimming and barbecue
Evening experiences – Boat trip to Nafplion by night
Trondheimsfjord Games in Greece – Social and fun activities

The trip provides a fantastic mix of sun, activity, culture and community - an experience you won't soon forget!

This trip is included in the school fees!

Singapore

Singapore is a modern metropolis in the middle of the tropics. The city is known for its unique mix of cultures, delicious food and skyscrapers in beautiful harmony with green areas. Here we visit famous places such as Gardens by the Bay, China Town and the island of Sentosa. You can, among other things, join in cycling in East Coast Park, paddle a dragon boat, luge driving and treetop hike among monkeys.

Singapore gives you an insight into a completely different culture and lifestyle than at home. We learn about cultural diversity and get to experience a safe and exciting city where there is always something going on. If we are lucky, we can also join celebrations like Chinese New Year or Lantern Fest.

We also try to make sure that there are some optional opportunities. If you go to Hardhaus you will have the opportunity to train at local indoor and outdoor fitness centers, and if you go to RUN there will be good opportunities for running. If you go to Event Management, a concert or event of some kind might be of interest. And Sportmix might want some extra water sports or climbing?

CAMBODIA

Cambodia is a beautiful country with a strong history and hospitable people, and can offer both big cities, jungles and white-white beaches. Here we will get to know young people who live in the student dormitory that the school project supports in the capital Phnom Penh, and meet farmers in the countryside who are involved in projects to increase income and prevent human trafficking.

In addition to visiting Normisjon's projects, we will also visit Siem Reap where we will see the sunrise over the Angkor Wat temples, go to a night market, and visit a floating village. In the capital, we will visit the Genocide Museum and the King's Palace, attend a church service, and play a soccer match with the students at the boarding school. After a couple of nights in the countryside to meet the farmers, we will head to Koh Rong Island to experience the white beaches and crystal clear waters.

This trip is in November and is open to anyone across the courses who wants to join.
