Do you dream of understanding the world better – and at the same time helping to change it?
Acta Solidarity is the line for those who want to combine faith, leadership and genuine commitment to the people around you. You will have a year that can change how you see people, faith and your own role in the world.
This line starts in the 27/28 school year.
On this line you can develop both personally and in meeting others. Through the ACTA part you get a solid platform in faith and leadership . You participate in Alpha courses, are challenged in leadership courses with camps, and get to take responsibility in Bible groups, children's groups, KRIK and in the community at school. Here you grow in faith and learn to lead and motivate others.
In the Solidarity section we look outward. You learn about human perspective, psychology, and cultural understanding , and how this affects society. Together with other lines we look at topics such as crime, exclusion, stress and substance abuse. You also gain practical experience with first aid, cooperation and crisis management through exciting and action-packed exercises.
This is not just theory – you get to meet reality. Through collaboration with the Church City Mission in Trondheim and your local congregation, you can help make a difference locally . Maybe you lead KRIK, participate in children and youth work or join the café for homeless people in Our Lady Church?
In addition, you will experience the world up close. In the fall we will travel to Cambodia and Thailand to visit projects that Normisjon runs. In Cambodia we will see what the school project's money goes to. We will visit a boarding school for poor students in the capital Phnom Penh, and work to prevent human trafficking in rural areas. In Thailand we will participate in house visits both in rural areas and in slums, and play football and have English lessons. In February we are planning a trip to North Macedonia , where we will be able to contribute to the work among the Roma people.
ACTA SOLIDARITY is the line for those who want to:

Tours and travels

2-day get-to-know-you tour

Optional study trip to Cambodia and Thailand in November; we will first travel with several others from school to Cambodia where we will meet young people at a student dormitory, spend the night in the countryside, experience the Angor Wat temple and beaches on Koh Rang. Then we will continue our journey to Thailand. There we will visit projects in Mukdahan, in the northeast of the country not far from the border with Laos. Here we will go on house visits both in the countryside and in the slums, and will be able to participate in football and English lessons. They also focus on safe childhood and education for parents. In Thailand we will have a few tourist days and a beach at the end of our stay.

In February we are going to North Macedonia , where we will visit someone who works among the Roma people. There we will help contribute to the poorest in the area.

The whole school is going on a study trip to Greece at the beginning of May!
Hello!
My name is Silje. Since 2013 I have been fortunate enough to work here at Trondheimsfjord Folkehøgskole.
I am a social worker and have also studied diaconia and aid, Bible and mission, and various African studies. I have worked for seven years in Mongolia, in projects focusing on children's rights. I have previously taught on a course focusing on East Africa, so there have been many trips there as well.
I love visiting new countries, experiencing new cultures and meeting people who think a little differently than me. Being able to be part of projects that make someone's life better is also something
which I find incredibly rewarding.
The best thing about my job is working with young people, being part of their journey and helping them see the world in a different way, and maybe even see themselves with new eyes. At folk high schools, you often travel a lot together, and it is important to have a safe and good class environment where you can be open and honest with each other, and support each other.
